__Special Collections manages unique and distinct collections of archives and rare books which are used extensively in university teaching and research. __

Their archive, rare book and manuscript resources cover all subject areas with major highlights in Twentieth-Century South West Writing, Literature and Visual Culture, Victorian Culture and Imperial Endeavour, Arab and Islamic Studies, and Religious and Parish book collections.

Materials from Special Collections are used in assessed essays, workshops, seminars, student dissertations and exhibitions.

Special Collections are open by advance appointment only from 10am - 5pm Monday to Friday. You are requested to contact them at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to arrange a visit.
