Commission Sculptural works inspired by the surfaces that are subliminally part of our everyday which have now come under scrutiny in our new 'normal'

This series of sculptural works uses deconstructed clothing items donated by members of my household to explore domestic surfaces synonymous with the human touch. These, often overlooked, everyday interactions have become subject to our heightened awareness as we consider the role of our bodies in the act of transmission.
Using clothing as a proxy for the human form, my work explores the simultaneous absence and presence of a person’s physicality, which prompts the viewer to consider their own interpersonal responsibilities. The intimacy of low-tech, hand-made techniques in the work reflects the intimate nature of repetitive interactions with common-place objects, and the clothing’s relationship to the body.
