Artist Brendan Barry
Commission A giant camera made from a garden shed

About the work
My work primarily involves gathering groups of people together and operating in confined spaces making photographs. Not something that is very advisable in the current climate! So what do you do when all your work for the foreseeable future is cancelled? Well you turn your shed into a camera of course!
In an effort to keep my practice evolving and be of some use to others, I have been making video tutorials on a variety of analogue photographic processes that people can follow at home. The below documents the building and operating of my shed camera, brings together a number of the processes I experiment with and shares some of the materials and approaches I use in my practice.

Brendan has also created two other tutorials separate to his Hyperlocal Arts Commission. One explores how you can turn your bedroom into a camera and the other how you can use household items to create film developer.
