In 2026 our FX Creative Together programme brought together three pairs of undergraduate students from the University of Exeter and Falmouth University for a 40-hour paid creative internship. Taking inspiration from the FX Plus Archives and Special Collections and drawing on their research interests and knowledge, the pairs worked collaboratively across June to develop a creative output.

The final group exhibition was titled, 'Woven Places, Layers of Falmouth'. Together, the interns explored how Falmouth Town is assembled, looking at themes of belonging, heritage, identity and environmental change. The exhibition was a demonstration of how interdisciplinary collaboration can collate a range of experiences and be used to answer complex questions.

About FX Creative Together

The FX Creative Together programme was established in 2022 and taps into the rich variety of specialism and perspectives, skills, lived experience and background of our Cornwall Campus student population.

It brings together students from Falmouth and Exeter universities to creatively collaborate as part of a 40-hour paid internship between May-June, developing creative outputs which can then be shared online or as part of in-person exhibitions.

These internships have creative experimentation and collaboration at their core. Students will discover how inter-disciplinary creative collaboration and experimentation can enrich their studies, imagination, employment skills, creative confidence and well-being.

The 2026 FX Creative Together programme was funded by Arts and Culture, University of Exeter (Cornwall), in partnership with the University of Exeter, Cornwall’s Department for Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (DEES) on Penryn Campus.
