Do you have some amazing images that tell the story of your research project? Are you looking for a display space to show the work of an artist you have collaborated with? If so, why not submit a proposal for a display in the Queen’s Building display space.

We are particularly interested in eye-catching and artistic images featuring trans-disciplinary research or collaborations that tell stories from diverse voices.

What sort of displays can be shown there?

As a main thoroughfare in and out of the Queen’s Building, it is important that the visual presentation of creative practice reflects the high value that we place on the arts.

Displays can promote the University’s arts collections, new arts commissions or research projects.

Displays can (but not exclusively) include –

• Collaborations between artists, academics and students, showcasing interdisciplinary working across the University.

• Digital displays – moving image presentations showing creative processes or collections

• Photographic displays – project documentation that tells the story of a creative process.

Displays should be visually exciting, high quality and informative. We’re interested to hear your idea.

Availability and timescales

There are three displays each year, one each term, lasting the full term.

Term 1: September to December
Term 2: January to March
Term 3: May to July

How does it work?

When you submit your proposal it will be given consideration by the Queen's Building Display Group and we'll let you know if you have been successful in securing your proposed display. We'll agree a date with you for installation and we can help with guidance on the layout of your display.

Please note that we do not provide a budget for displays. We will ensure that the wall is in good condition before you install your display, and pay for the wall to be made good afterwards. We can also help promote your display through Arts and Culture digital communication channels free of charge. However, you will need to state in your proposal how you would fund your display.
