Welcome to the University of Exeter’s Sculpture Walk for people with visual impairments. It has been developed by Arts and Culture at the University of Exeter, in collaboration with the Exeter-based vision impairment and complex needs charity InFocus.
There are eight sculptures on this walk. Some are outdoors and some indoors; all but one are accessible by wheelchair. Start the walk at any point and if you want, just visit one or two sculptures. They are all different and you are welcome to touch the sculptures gently.
We recommend you bring a sighted person with you to access the audio recordings and to help you find the sculptures safely, as they are a short walk from each other.
The walk is open from Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Download a map which helps your guide show you round and find places to park.
There are two audio guides for each sculpture – you can choose to listen to a sensory guide for each sculpture or dip into a more detailed description to find out more.
Each guide is a separate digital file you can listen to online using your phone or tablet.
We hope you enjoy the experience. If you would like to give us feedback about the walk, or want to ask for more information before coming on the walk, please email artsandculture@exeter.ac.uk
