John Rutter's Gloriaconcert Fri 29 Mar 2019, 19:30
1 The Cloisters
Exeter EX1 1HS
- Standard entry £15
Exeter University Choral Society and Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir present John Rutter's Gloria, performed at Exeter Cathedral, "one of England's most beautiful medieval cathedrals".
Composed in 1974, Rutter structured the three movements of this piece around the titular Latin Order of Mass, 'Gloria'. These three fast-slow-fast movements follow the typical pattern of concertos, which make the piece "exalted, devotional and jubilant" according to Rutter himself.
Two Devon choirs are coming together to perform a brilliant array of choral works, featuring John Rutter’s Gloria, conducted by the wonderful Michael Graham. They will be accompanied by a talented brass band of Exeter University musicians, beginning the Easter break in an unforgettable way in the gorgeous setting of the cathedral.
The concert will start at 7:30pm, doors opening at 6:45pm. Tickets are priced at £15 standard entry, £10 for student entry. Tickets can be purchased through the University of Exeter student guild website or on the door. For more information please click here.
